My name is Alexandria. I am a senior at the University of Michigan studying Art & Design and Global Media Studies. At the Stamps School of Art & Design I specialize in Photography. In my photography I emphasize the use of pre-existing and natural environments. Bringing my background to Ka-Bloom I aim to reinforce the aspect of BioDesign with reverting back to native plants.

Cassie

Hi there, I’m Cassie! I’m a painter and graduate from U of M. My family and I have always held a connection to nature. Both my mother and father had a childhood filled with camping and a stress on our relationship to the environment. This love for the great outdoors carried over to my generation, thanks to the presence of my father’s mother. Out of all of us, she had the strongest connection to the Earth; her green thumb was further proof of that. It was by her example that I learned the importance of respecting the Earth and the responsibility of maintaining it. My hope for the future is to keep her legacy alive, and to encourage love, care, and awareness for our environment.

Ellie Ward is a student at the University of Michigan studying Biology, Health and Society and Fine Arts. She specializes in 3D work involving the human microbiome and society’s impacts on health. In joining Kabloom, Ellie has taken a deeper look at how ecosystems affect the health of our planet and brings expertise in speculative futures. This project has changed her views on biodesign, and she can’t wait to take this philosophy into her art & design future.
